Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is a free tool that lets you block your own access to wagering with upc0z for a set period. It is one of several consumer protection measures we provide as a licensed operator under Liquor & Gaming NSW (licence 4597/2024/WB). This page explains how operator-level self-exclusion works, what happens to your account and funds, and the broader national option available to you.
If you need to talk to someone, free and confidential support is available 24/7 on 1800 858 858, or contact us at our support email (see Contact Us).
How operator-level self-exclusion works
Operator-level self-exclusion is activated from inside your account, under 'Account features'. Choose a period from 3 days, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. It takes effect immediately upon confirmation.
The minimum self-exclusion term is 7 days and the maximum is 5 years. Once confirmed, the exclusion applies immediately. You will not be able to place bets, deposit, or access wagering features with upc0z for the duration of the term you select.
Cooling-off and irreversibility
A 24-hour cooling-off period applies to cancelling a self-exclusion request. Within those first 24 hours you may withdraw your request. After the 24-hour cooling-off period has passed, the self-exclusion is irreversible for the chosen term and cannot be shortened, paused or lifted early by you or by our staff.
This is a deliberate safeguard. Self-exclusion is designed to be a firm commitment, so the irreversible nature of the term protects the decision you have made.
Your balance and pending bets
When your self-exclusion takes effect:
- Your account balance is returned to the original source of the funds (for example, the debit card or payment method used to deposit).
- Pending bets are settled if the relevant event has already taken place, and voided if the event has not yet taken place.
- Any winnings from settled bets are paid back to your original payment source.
Marketing, promotions and subscriptions
Marketing stops automatically. You will not receive promotional emails, SMS, push notifications or other direct marketing from upc0z for the duration of your self-exclusion.
You are excluded from all promotions for the duration of the self-exclusion. Existing subscriptions to offers, bonus programs and promotional communications are suspended, and you cannot opt in to or claim promotions while excluded.
Reactivation at the end of the term
There is no automatic reactivation. When your self-exclusion term ends, your account does not simply re-open. To resume wagering you must complete an active opt-in and pass identity re-verification (KYC). Until both steps are completed, your account remains closed to betting.
Family-initiated and third-party requests
We accept third-party self-exclusion requests, including those initiated by a family member or another concerned person, where there is a genuine concern about a person's gambling. These requests are assessed individually and may require supporting information so we can verify the account and act appropriately.
To make a family-initiated or third-party request, contact us at our support email (see Contact Us) or call 1800 858 858. We will explain what information is needed and how the request will be handled, consistent with our privacy and regulatory obligations.
Sharing of self-exclusion information
Where required by law or by our regulatory obligations, we share self-exclusion information with third parties and registers. This may include national or industry self-exclusion registers and relevant authorities. Information is shared only to the extent necessary to give effect to your exclusion and to meet our legal duties.
BetStop — the National Self-Exclusion Register
BetStop is the National Self-Exclusion Register. It is a separate and broader option that covers all licensed Australian online and phone wagering operators, not just upc0z. Registering with BetStop blocks you from opening accounts or betting with every licensed Australian operator for the period you choose.
BetStop is free, confidential and available at betstop.gov.au. If you want a single exclusion that applies across the whole industry, BetStop is the appropriate tool. You can use BetStop in addition to operator-level self-exclusion with upc0z.
Governing laws
Self-exclusion and the National Self-Exclusion Register are governed by:
- Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth) — Part 7B
- Interactive Gambling (National Self-Exclusion Register) Register Rules 2022
- National Self-Exclusion Register (Cost Recovery Levy) Act 2019
